Cyberattacks can have many sources such as a breach in the organization’s IT infrastructure, the deployment of new IoT, and third parties. Green PI makes it possible to use TALK, the integrated Push-to-Talk application, with a Bluetooth headset, freeing the user from the need to use a web interface. To do this, simply pair a headset and PTT button with a Bluetooth-enabled YOI router. The user is then automatically connected to the TALK application, where he or she can have a voice conversation with other users.

Twice as small and twice as powerful, the nYOI is a new-generation IoE platform that delivers high-speed edge services (real-time video, VoIP, instant messaging, location, blockchain, etc.) over a mesh network, while boasting a power consumption of just 6W, a weight of only 50g, and a quad-core CPU. The nYOI is suitable for integrating mobile devices with limited energy resources, such as drones, robots, radios, wearables, and sensors for swarming, teaming, direct communications, among other applications.

The YOI-6e platform comes with a Wi-Fi 6e interface for providing edge services and wireless mesh network over 2,5 Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz bands. Wi-Fi 6e provides a theoretical wireless rate up to 2.4 Gbit/s. YOI-6e design is tiny (280g) and low power (6W). It can be powered with a 10Ah battery and get 20h system lifetime while being wearable.

Green Communications has conducted a study to evaluate the carbon footprint of cloud, edge and Internet of Edges solutions in collaboration with researchers from Sorbonne University, and Paris Saclay University.
The results reveal that bringing digital services closer to producers and consumers of data, called the edge, could halve the greenhouse gas emissions of a digital service compared to cloud-based solutions. Connecting nearby edges directly and, possibly, wirelessly to each other, called the Internet of Edges, could reduce the carbon footprint of digital communications by a factor of up to 16.
Almost half of the global datasphere will consist of local data by 2025 (IDC). To save this local data from a long and unnecessary journey, synonymous with wasted resources, we could consider using digital infrastructures that create short circuits for vicinity data, such as edge infrastructures and the Internet of Edges.

The new version of Green PI’s software introduces major novelties. The GreenSoft is validated on a twice smaller and more powerful low power electronic device, the nYOI (new generation YOI router board). This version is also validated with Wi-Fi 6e which provides a theoretical wireless rate up to 2.4 Gbit/s. GreenSoft 2023.1 adds Bluetooth support on YOI-6 and YOI-6e platforms, with automatic connection to the embedded PTT application for voice-over-IP (VoIP) transmissions using a Bluetooth headset, freeing the user from the need for a web interface.
The GreenSoft is the key enabler of Green PI. It is a set of programs from low-level to end-user web apps that allows hardware to:
– connect with nearby Green PI devices to create a dynamic and self-configuring wireless edge network with quality of service (QoS);

Green Communications has been nominated by Embedded France as one of the 14 candidates to the trophies of embedded technologies.
